WATCH: U2 Give Two 'Songs of Experience' Performances on 'SNL'

Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live experienced an Irish takeover, brought to you by U2 and Saoirse Ronan. Marking their first SNL gig since 2009, U2 performed two songs off their latest album, Songs of Experience.

First came “American Soul,” and as the song features an intro by Kendrick Lamar, he made an animated appearance to kick off the set. According to Rolling Stone, this was the first time the band played “American Soul” live.

Songs of Experience dropped December 1, and the band will embark on its eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE tour in support of the album beginning 2018.
